Edward “Eddie Joe” Britenriker (1938-2022)

ARCHBOLD – Edward Joseph “Eddie Joe” Britenriker, age 84 of Archbold, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Vitas Hospice House in Lecanto, Florida.

He was born in Archbold on April 20, 1938, to the late Edward Joseph, Sr. and Grace Katherine (Dominique) Britenriker.

Joe attended and graduated from Stryker Schools. He and his special companion, Phyllis Maxine Mae Weiss, have over 50 years together.

Joe worked for many years as a butcher for Eckert/Dinner Bell; however, finished his working career in electrical maintenance at ITT. He was also a lifelong avid farmer.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold. He looked forward to traveling to his winter home in Hernando, Florida with Phyllis. He was a very dedicated family man and took great pride in farming.

Left to cherish Joe’s memory are his companion, Phyllis; sons, Jeff and Jason (Annie Justinger) Britenriker; son-in-law, Todd (Jackie) Short; grandchildren, Jolene (Bill, Jr.) Gearig, Jasmine (Jake) Hoffer, John (Amie) Britenriker, and Savannah (Trent Crouch) Short; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Drake, Charlotte, Adelaide, Jorja, Fynn, and Jasper; a brother, Rod (Debbie) Britenriker; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents are his loving daughter, Christina Marie Short; and brothers, Ben and Mike Britenriker.

Services for Joe will be private, and interment will take place in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Archbold.

Monetary donations in Joe’s memory may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The Eagle-Marry Funeral Home – Fayette Chapel, with assistance from Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto, Florida, have been entrusted with arrangements.
