Elinor A. Raabe (1927 – 2015)

Elinor Ann Raabe WEBElinor Ann Raabe, age 88, of Delta passed away at the Elizabeth Scott Community in Maumee on May 6, 2015. The daughter of David and Marie (Granger) Parks; she was born February 3, 1927 in South Bend, IN.

Elinor was a 1944 graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School. She married John Harold Raabe on March 21, 1948 in South Bend. John preceded her in death on December 11, 1988. They moved to Arcade, NY in 1950 and on to North Baltimore, OH in 1956, before settling in Delta in 1962. She was a former member of the Delta United Methodist Church where she was active many years in the choir and ladies aid. Elinor was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta. Also serving the community, she was past treasurer of the Delta Community Outreach for many years.

Elinor is survived by her four children; Janet Rarick of Cameron, LA, John (Cathryn) Raabe of Delta, Richard (Penney) Raabe of Waterville and Linda Raabe of Defiance; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In honoring her wishes Elinor will be cremated and her remains interred next to her husband at Raker Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta; with a memorial service celebrating her life beginning at 7:00 PM. Pastor Eric Markovich will be officiating.

Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations to the Delta Community Outreach, Hands of Grace Faith in Action, both at 104 Monroe St., Delta, Ohio 43515 or Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 Taylor St., Delta, Ohio 43515 in Elinor’s memory.
