The Division of State Fire Marshal is seeking information from the public regarding two fires that were intentionally set. Investigators have ruled an abandoned house fire and a barn fire, both at 10131 County Road 12 in Wauseon, as arson.
The house fire occurred at 3:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2015. The barn fire occurred one week earlier on Monday, April 27, 2015 around 12:15 AM. The Wauseon Fire Department responded to both scenes. The investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and the Wauseon Fire Department.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee for information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fire.
“It’s important that if you heard or saw something out of the ordinary, to let investigators know,” said State Fire Marshal Larry L. Flowers. “That one tip could allow investigators to solve the case.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Fire & Explosion Investigation Bureau at 1-800-589-2728.
