The Evergreen Local Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Many items were discussed at this meeting.
In faculty news, Superintendent Jim Wyse presented letters of resignation from Nancy Grover, 30+ years, to be effective 5/13/16 and Cindy Miller, 14+ years, effective as of 10/14/15. The resignations were accepted with Ms. Grover’s to be effective 5/31/16. Tammy Nofziger, Andrea Hesson, and Ann Laney were approved as homebound instructors for the 2015-2016 school year on an as needed basis. Judy Stuckey was offered part-time employment for the 2015-2016 school year serving the District as preschool consultation.
The Junior Varsity Girls basketball supplemental contract previously offered to Sharon Purdy on July 13, 2015 was rescinded and awarded to Colleen Abbott for the 2015-2016 school year. This is pending the receipt of all applicable certification, licensure, and background information that fulfill the qualifications and requirements for the position. The contract of 7/8 Girls Basketball supplemental contract previously offered to Mollie Youtzy was also rescinded with 2015-2016 supplemental 1/2 contracts offered to her and Brittany Cymbolin. Dan Steel was approved as girls basketball volunteer coach pending receipt of all necessary qualifications and requirements.
Supplemental contracts were also rescinded for the 7/8 Wrestling offered to Carson Fry on Sept. 14 and offered 2015-2016 supplemental 1/2 contracts as follows: Carson Fry and Mary Nichols both 7/8 Wrestling. The Varsity Assistant Football supplemental contract previously offered to Eric Suttie on May 11, 2015 was rescinded as well and offered the 2015-2016 1/2 contracts to Eric Suttie and Tyler Kleeberger.
Donations were accepted from the Donahue Family to the Donahue Family Scholarship Fund, Pheasants Forever, Inc. the Fulton Co. Chapter #492 for the purchase of archery equipment for the H.S. Physical Education Department, and from Evergreen Music Boosters for the replacement of a water heater in the concession stand.
Three year agreements were authorized between Evergreen Local School District and the College of Education and Human Development of Bowling Green State University for the purpose of placing teacher education students in the classrooms of the District. Also authorized was the three year agreement between Evergreen Local School District and the University of Toledo for student teaching and internships.
The board went to executive session but no action was taken. The meeting was then adjourned.
