Varsity

Swanton 3 Paulding 0

Maddie Smith went 16/17 serving (11 points) and Katlyn Floyd was 31/33 hitting with 17 kills and added 11 digs in Swanton’s 25-18, 25-22, 25-16 win over Paulding. Sofie Taylor dished out 33 assists for the Bulldogs while Brie Williams and Bailey Dekoeyer each had 10 digs.

Hicksville 3 Bryan 1

Bryan came out strong winning the opening set against the state ranked Hicksville Aces, but the Aces recovered to get the win in four sets 20-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-15. Gwen Spengler led the Bears attack with 12 kills, 16 digs and Jordan Beck recorded 10 digs.

Hilltop 3 Pettisville 0

Kacy Connolly went 43/43 setting with 20 assists and Joscelyn Layman was 34/34 with 13 assists to lead Hilltop past Pettisville 25-18, 25-15, 25-19. Jayma Bailey added a 14/15 serving night to go with her seven digs and Gabby Rodriguez sent home 13 kills on 30/32 hitting. The Blackbirds were led statistically by Leah Beck (15/15 serving, 15 assists, seven digs) and Liz Rochefort (10/10 serving, eight kills, 10 digs).

North Central 3 Stryker 0

North Central started BBC play with a 25-18, 25-14, 25-19 victory at Stryker. Kendal Bonney topped the Eagles )10-1, 1-0 in BBC) with 16 kills, nine assists, Madison Brown hammered 10 kills with 16 assists, and Alexia Miller added 15 digs. Sage Woolace finished with 15 digs for Stryker (5-9, 0-1 in BBC) while Haylee Fulk was 21/23 hitting with six kills.

Edon 3 Holgate 0

Emma Hickman rung up 28 assists and Allison Kaylor had 10 kills to lead Edon (6-6, 1-0 in BBC) past Holgate (25-18, 25-21, 25-20) in the Tigers first BBC volleyball match. Carlie Kiess recorded four kills and nine digs for the Bombers.

GIRLS SOCCER

Evergreen 7 Northwood 1

Paige Radel scored her first of four goals on the night with 28:00 remaining in the first half as Evergreen cruised to 7-1 nonconference win. Sydney Woodring got into the act with a goal at the 9:00 mark to make it 2-0 Vikings at halftime.

Evergreen poured it on in the second half with Radel finding the net three times and Woodring added two more goals of her own.

BOYS SOCCER

Wauseon 6 Evergreen 1

Eli Delgado registered a hat trick to pace the Indians to a 6-1 NWOAL win. Manuel Gante (2) and Gavin Gerig accounted for the other Wauseon scoring while Benicio Torres tallied three assists.

Bryan 2 Liberty Center 0

Quinn Brown scored twice in the first half for Bryan, with assists by Nathan Hess and Noah Diaz, to lift Bryan to the win at Liberty Center. Dom Malanga kept the sheet clean with seven saves in goal for the Golden Bears.
