It’s that time of year again; the annual Williams County Adult Agricultural Education classes are now underway at Edon Northwest Local Schools.
Launching the 2016 series on Wednesday, January 13 will be a special farm safety program Introduction to Farm Emergencies. In cooperation with the Edon FFA Chapter and Edon Farmers Co-op, Emergency Services Rescue Training, Inc. will host the program aimed to educate agricultural students, farm families and first responders from across Williams County on how best to manage and pre-plan for farm emergencies. A light meal ~ courtesy of Edon FFA ~ starts off the evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Edon Schools Auditeria followed by the Monsanto program from 6:30-9:00 p.m.; all are welcome to attend the free event.
Subsequent agricultural education meetings will be held Monday evenings in the Edon High School agriculture classroom beginning at 7:30 p.m. (In the event of a weather cancellation, please refer to the district website www.edon.k12.oh.us for information.) Event parking is available in the lot located on the west side of the school closest to the large overhead door; you may enter through the doors nearby. Light refreshments ~ courtesy of Edon FFA Alumni ~ will be provided after each gathering.
A complete listing of interesting and educational topics covered throughout the series is outlined below. Free and open to the public, guests can attend any or all of the Monday classes as schedules permit.
