Fayette Boys, Pettisville Girls Win BBC Meet At Funny Farm

(October 9th, 2014)-PIONEER: Funny Farm Camp Grounds served as the stage for the final Buckeye Border Conference meet of the season. Pettisville had a strong showing at the event, with their girls taking first and their boys second at the event. Fayette claimed victory for the boys.

Lady Blackbird Nichole Foor won the girls heat, crossing the finish line less than a second ahead of teammate and second place finisher Alexa Leppelmeier. Both girls ran a 20:46. Fellow Pettisville runner Elizabeth Miller clocked in at 22:09 to take fifth place.

For the Lady Cadets, who finished second as a unit, Landrey Brown led the way with a third place finish at 21:43. Kara Brown, with a time of 22:14, earned a sixth place finish for Hilltop, while teammate Madeleine Routhier came in seventh at 22:30.

Stryker’s Megan Grader finished fourth in the race, turning in a time of 22:08. Lady Panther Shi’Anna Whitman took tenth place at 22:48. Page Speelman was the next Stryker girl to cross the finish line, doing so at 22:48.


With a time of 22:43, ninth place finisher Emma Zenz was the first North Central runner to step across the finish line. Brookelyn Brown was the next Lady Eagle to complete the race at 25:06, good for nineteenth place. In twenty-fifth place, teammate Taylor Harper ran a 25:51.

Emilie Keiser and her time of 22:38 earned eighth place for Fayette. Eighteenth place also belonged to Fayette, thanks to the 24:59 time of Liz Maginn. At 27:54, Alexus Ball was the next Lady Eagle of Fayette to complete the course.

The Lady Bombers of Edon were paced by Benda Harrington, who finished thirteenth at 23:57. Close behind was Cameron Lord, who finished only four seconds later, at 24:01, to claim fourteenth place. Kaylie Brown made twenty-ninth place for Edon, running a 28:03.


For the boys, Fayette’s Skylar Lantz was first to finish, running a 17:06. Jared Wagner took third for the Eagles at 17:58. Right behind him was teammate Christian Suarez, who completed the course in 18:05 to claim fourth place.

For Pettisville, Kyle Lantz took second place, clocking in at 17:47. Jacob Hauter earned ninth place with a time of 18:39, while Ben Gray brought home thirteenth place for the Blackbirds, finishing the race at 19:11.

Andrew Luke and Jerry Braun led the Bombers in the race, finishing in tenth place at 18:45 and eleventh place at 18:49, respectively. Coy Dunkle was the next Bomber to complete the course at 19:44, good for seventeenth place.

Trenton Sakos, at 18:50, was the first North Central runner to finish the race, coming in twelfth place. Teammate Jason Vassar took fifteenth place for himself, running a 19:23. At twenty-third place, Adam Knepper was the next Eagle of North Central to cross the line.


Hunter Lilleholm recorded a 21:01 for Stryker, as fellow Panther Trevin Rhoades stayed close behind at 21:14. Israel Aguilar reported a time of 21:31 for Stryker as well.

With just two runners at the meet, Hilltop didn’t much factor into the scoring of the meet. RyLee McCain earned a twentieth place finish, running a 20:12. Fellow Cadet Ben Routhier clocked in at 22:21.
