Fayette Eagles Still Perfect In BBC Play After Dealing A 34-25 Defeat To Edon Bombers

February 5, 2013Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

FAYETTE – The Fayette Eagles are running away with the BBC this year, and they are doing it behind a star-studded cast of…nobody. Every night, there is some one new stepping up for the Purple and Gold. Try to key up and double-team someone, and someone else will bury you for it. Try to outrun them, and prepare yourself for a diet of crow. Look up the word ‘team’, and you will see a picture of the 2012-13 Fayette Eagles.

On January 25, another squad that has that same team concept but with less experience came to Eagle Country in the persons of the Edon Bombers. When you are stacked with talent that includes Mike Peeples, the OHSAA Division IV State High Jump Champion at center, good things can happen. For all their talent though, the Bombers are short in the experience category, and that factor came into play as the Eagles outscored the Bombers in every period to take a 34-25 BBC decision.

Chandler Sanford rattled in a game-high 12 points for the 12-3/6-0 Eagles, while Zayne Colegrove added 6. Logan Franks and Cole Burkholder had 5 points apiece, Tyler Cox 4 points and Alec Hylander 2.

Brock Thiel fired off 8 points to lead the Boys in Bomber Blue, while Peeples added 4 points, Reid Bowling, Kaden Sapp and River Wicker 3 points apiece, and Jacob Brown and Clay Parrish had 2 points apiece.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Fayette 7 9 8 10 – 34
Edon 6 5 7 7 – 25
