1-17-13 Pv v Fayt GBB (AW) (19) WEBPETTISVILLE – Anyone who has ever taken on the Pettisville Lady Blackbirds in The Birdcage knows that it is not the venue in which falling behind is rewarded with much success at the final buzzer. The Fayette Lady Eagles have years of experience in that category, but the 2012-13 chapter of the Lady Eagles packs something special wherever they suit up…confidence.
On January 17, the Lady Eagles and the Lady Blackbirds hooked up for the second time this season. Pettisville’s lone BBC loss this year came to this same Fayette team, and after this game, the Ladybirds’ BBC mark fell to 4-2 with a 38-35 setback to the Lady Eagles.
Pettisville came out strong with a 10-4 first period run, but Fayette would rule every quarter after that. The Lady Eagles outgunned their hosts 34-25 the remainder of the way out to pick up the win.
Kaela Seiler landed 12 points to lead the Lady Eagles, with Mikayla Smith getting 11 points and Taylor Griffiths 9. Paige Keefer had 3 points, Ashtyn Baker 2 and Alexis Fruchey one point.
Mikala Avina led the 8-6/4-2 Ladybirds with 12 points, while Lauren Hostetler had 9 points, Kate Kauffman 8, and Dana Fricke 6.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Fayette 4 9 12 13 – 38
Pettisville 10 6 8 11 – 35
