The Fayette Opera House, located at 105 East Main Street, held a “Down Home at the Opera House” show this past Saturday night.
The show began at 7:00 p.m. on October 28th, with a Homemade Boloney sandwich dinner taking place earlier at 6:00 p.m.
This past week’s show featured local performer Heidi Paxton, Fayette Opera House Board Member Steve Snider, and Music By Bliss.
Heidi Paxton was introduced as one of the local coffee house regulars, as she performs regularly at local coffee houses, wineries, and breweries around Northwest Ohio.
Steve Snider has been singing and playing guitar since the age of 14. He has performed on stage at the Holland Homestead in Waldron, Michigan, and has even had the likes of Shelby Eicher play along with him on that stage.

Steve also plays every year at the Fulton County Fair on Labor Day and just celebrated his 25th anniversary of playing at the fair this year.
Special Guests Bliss was introduced as a quintet of women who have stepped outside the box in the Northwest Ohio music scene.
These performers are also from the Northwest Ohio area and have been performing together for 13 years now.
The group’s music has incorporated songs from 1961 to 2011, with the group also transforming those songs to fit their own noteworthy style.
Each of the guests were introduced before coming up to play on stage. A brief intermission took place before the members of Bliss took stage, which saw an auction homemade pies and boloney take place.
Members of the audience participated in the auction that raised hundreds for the Opera House. This money is used to keep the Opera House open, as well as for capital improvement projects like a new parking lot.

Fayette Opera House’s Tina Snider explained that the group is excited for the coming season and is working hard to keep the Opera House open.
“We are very excited for what is coming. We have a good lineup of performances coming up. We have a very family-oriented atmosphere, and our ticket prices are low because of that. We hope to bring in as many people as we can.”
“We are always booking great entertainment to bring people in to keep the place open. We are trying hard to keep the place open and it is getting more difficult over time.”
“Without our patrons, we would have to close the doors. This is a true gem of Northwest Ohio, and we don’t want to see it close.”
