A Village of Fayette Police Officer has been placed on unpaid administrative leave following a fight on his property. The Fayette Police Department released a statement regarding the incident.
“On Monday, October 28, 2024, the Fayette Police Department was notified that an officer in the Department had just been charged with two misdemeanors in the Napoleon, Ohio Municipal Court.”
“The officer, Sergeant Jordan Wehrly, has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of those charges, and a related internal investigation by the department.”
“The department will have no further comment on the open investigation until after the charges are resolved, and the investigation is complete.”
According to the incident report released to The Village Reporter, marked as an “unapproved draft”, the incident took place on October 20th. “On 10/20/2024 Henry County Communications received multiple 911 calls about an active fight with a large amount of people at “redacted”.
In one of the calls, the caller and victim one, stated that at least three firearms were involved, and he had a firearm pointed at his face by an unknown male.”
“Deputies arrived on scene and located victim one in the front yard, and the defendant, Jordan Wehrly in the front yard of his residence.’
“Deputies spoke to victim one, who stated that he was in front of the residence and 4-5 males came at him, one of them being the defendant, and described the defendant to be wearing purple “pimp” pants/jacket and started shoving him.”
“Victim one stated that he tried to explain that he was not apart of the altercation, and that the defendant and other shoved his head into a car and grabbed him by his face/chest area and he dropped down.”
“Victim one stated that a gun was shoved in his face by another unidentified person. Victim one also stated that his girlfriend, victim two, was grabbed by her right arm by the defendant.”
“I spoke to victim two, and she stated that she was grabbed by the defendant and showed me her arm that had visible red marks that appeared to have been from being grabbed. The defendant is being summoned to court for two counts of assault.”
“No other charges have been filed, as the names of most of the people involved in this incident are unidentified and no one has come forward with information on them.”
Additional narratives from deputies who were on scene also stated that one of the callers stated there were 200 people at the party. The deputy also noted that Wehrly appeared to be “highly intoxicated” with a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” being detected on his breath, and that on occasions Wehrly was “upset” by the presence of EMTs that arrived.
It was also stated that Wehrly was “argumentative” with Deputy Clevidence. “I told Jordan that this is not a good look and tried to confirm his employment with a police department, to which Jordan stated he would not confirm that.”

“Deputy Daman walked over and addressed hair on the grass over by a car, that later turned out to be a wig. Jordan got upset by this and at one point asked what we were implementing on him.”
“Jordan was argumentative with me, and shortly later when EMS arrived on scene, for the seizure, he seemed upset by their presence.”
“EMTs got out and walked past us, and he was questioning why they were there and asked me if I saw anyone having a seizure.”
“Throughout the investigation Jordan kept stating that the female having the seizure was faking it. I told Jordan not to give EMS a hard time.”
“Jordan continued to state that he wants every single report on this incident from tonight and that he is not disorderly as he is on his property.”
“I tried to reason with Jordan and explain that deputies were called out for a fight involving firearms and Jordan continued to not cooperate and argue with me. Jordan stated that he was going inside and turned around to walk away. I told Jordan that we would speak to him shortly to which he replied “no”.”

“I told Jordan to stay where he was, and he walked away. I told him to come back, and he stopped walking and told me that I had no legal authority to detain him. Jordan then again expressed his displeasure with EMS being here.”
“He also told me I had no articulable suspicion he committed a crime. I continued to try to talk to Jordan and he asked if he was being detained. Jordan then asked how drunk I thought he was on a scale of 1-10. I told him that I thought he was highly intoxicated.”
“Jordan later stated he does not need this job, that he sells 1 million dollar’s worth of real estate. I asked Jordan to see things from deputies’ point of view, and he stated something along the lines of it being political, and earlier in the conversation stated that we both “go down for politics and this shit” every day.”
Following the incident on October 20th, the police report shows that Wehrly contacted the sheriff’s office the following day to offer his cooperation to law enforcement.
Wehrly also informs deputies that he does not know the names of the individuals that had allegedly brandished the firearms.
Wehrly had previously stated during the incident to Deputy Birtcher that the party was RSVP only, but random people had shown up.

He also stated that the three girls who had been fighting were people he did not know and that he had been trying to get them to leave for over 20 plus minutes.
According to court records, Wehrly was charged with two Misdemeanors in the 1st Degree, for assault. Also, allegations had been made regarding drinks being given to underage individuals at the party.
According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, it appears as though the individual in question was in fact of drinking age.
