FAYETTE SCHOOL BOARD: Board Hears About End Of School Year Events

Fayette Local School Board of Education met for their regularly scheduled meeting on May 16, 2022. All Board members were present except Ryan Eberly.

First up Angela Belcher, Superintendent, informed the board that the new bleachers have been delivered to the track area.

Belcher spoke also about an anonymous donation they received that the school has put towards updates such as furniture and a new air conditioner unit.


Next up, Kelly Bentley, Treasurer, informed the board they have received the property insurance quote for 2023 fiscal year. The discussion is centered around cyber security protection and any updates that need put in place.

Next, Jon Molter, High School Principal, spoke about the recent events of the end of the school year. The school will be holding their annual Relay for Life activities for the Junior High and High School students on May 20th.

Also a group of students from 7,8,9 went to Washington D.C. for a tour, Molter informed the board of a successful trip. Summer school starts June 6-17, 2022 from 9am to 2pm. The high school is looking forward to planning another great year.


Next up, the board heard from Olivia Selgo, Elementary Principal. Selgo informed the board that the Right to Read week will start on May 17th with an “Ocean” theme.

The teachers have put a lot of time, thought and effort in making the daily activities fun and enjoyable for the students.

Next, the board approved the following: The financial report for April 2022, the updated five-year forecast and supporting notes for 2022, and a list of seniors for graduation for 2022 pending their completion of all requirements necessary to graduate from Fayette High School.

Next, the board approved the Hylant Group to provide Property Insurance coverage through Ohio School Plan in the amount of $27,891 beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.


Lastly the board went into executive session to discuss personnel. The meeting adjourned.
