According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the unemployment rate has increased for Fulton County from 4.6% in January to 4.8% in February. Williams County has remained the same at 3.4%.
Compared to February 2022, these numbers are slightly down. In February of 2022, the unemployment rate was at 4.9% for Fulton County and 3.8% for Williams County.
These numbers did lower considerably throughout the year, even seeing numbers as low as 2.8%.
While there is no way to know what will happen this year for certain, the Department of Labor and Statistics did report a net gain of 236,000 jobs nationwide in March.
The current unemployment rate for the State of Ohio is currently set at 3.9% and is also at 3.6% for the U.S. as a whole.
According to the United States Federal Reserve, due to rising interest rates, unemployment for the country is expected to rise to at least 4.4% by the end of the year.
