The Fayette had another successful year at the Fulton Country Fair. Fifty four members volunteered to work the pork stand on Monday September 2nd and September 4th. The members enjoyed being with each other and helping out as they served sandwiches and drinks, made many sandwiches and were given the opportunity to support agriculture in another way. Casen Burkholder, Grant Reinking, and Wade Burkholder participated in the straw stack event on Tuesday September 3, 2013.  These gentlemen had to load 40 bales, drive through and obstacle course and then unload the bales again to the way they found them.  Members were ranked based on the shortest time to completion of the challenge.  Members could also participate in the Livestock Judging Contest on September 2nd. During this contest members were asked to evaluate a class of Dairy cows, market lambs, boar goats, beef steers and market hogs.  Members were competing against various other FFA and 4-H members that participated that day.  Members participating included Jena Meyers, Wade Burkholder, Casen Burkholder, Haley Burkholder, and Joel Smith. Haley, Wade, and Casen won over all as a team. Haley received 2nd as an individual. Great job!

Each month the Fayette FFA members nominate an outstanding FFA member for the month.  This month Joel Smith received this honor.  Joel participated in the livestock judging contest, helped in the pork stand and was instrumental in pre-fair preparations. Good job Joel!
