Four County Board Of Education Discusses Board President Position & New Employment Approvals

The November Meeting of the Four County Career Center Board of Education was held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the Board Room at Four County Career Center. During the course of the meeting, the following business was conducted:
The meeting was called to order by Board Vice-President Denny Vetter. A time of reflection was held to remember Board President Larry Martin, who passed away earlier in the week. The board then entered into executive session after roll call to consider various personnel items. Upon re-entering regular session, Denny Vetter was elected to serve at Board President for the remainder of 2015 to replace Mr. Martin, and Brian Baker was then elected Vice-President to replace Denny Vetter in that position.
As part of the Treasurer’s Report, the Board approved:
•The October Meeting Minutes
• The financial statements and investments for the month of October as presented.
•The revenue adjustments and appropriation modifications.
•The GAAP financial statements for FY2015.
As part of the Superintendent’s Report, the Board accepted and/or approved the following items:
•The resignation of Laura Brown, Health Programs Coordinator.
•The retirement of Vickie Snow, CBY Instructor at the end of the 2015-16 school year.
•The employment of Blake Rockey as an Accounting and Business Management Instructor and Mary Jo Beilharz as mentor.
•Certified substitutes as presented.
•The employment of Mary Jo Beilharz and Matt Geiger as BPA Club Advisors.
•Internal Substitutes for the 2015-16 school year.
•The employment of Hunter Gerken as warehouse substitute.
•The employment of Public Safety Instructors through Adult Education.
•Collision Repair Education Foundation of Estates Illinois donated safety glasses to the Auto Body Program.
•Fulton County Pork Producers gave a monetary donation to the career center.
•The courses of studies for the Accounting and Business Management G2 and Medical Office Technologies.
•The agreement between Ayersville School District and Four County Career Center for Bus Transportation to the Suspension Center for the 2015-16 school year at a rate of $20.00 per day.
•Moving Denny Vetter from the Policy Committee to the Finance Committee.
Under Board Committee Reports, the Board received updates from:
•Legislative Liaison
•OSBA Delegate
Upcoming meetings involving members of the Four County Career Center Board of Education include the regular December Board Meeting on December 17, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room at Four County Career Center.
