WEST UNITY: February 14, 2014 – The Hilltop Cadets have struggled all season long with consistency, and with Fayette in the house on February 14, the old bugaboo returned to bite the hometown boys.
Hilltop posted a second half advantage of 25-16 over the Eagles, a difficult task against their defense. That advantage was not enough to atone for a paltry five-point output in the first half that allowed Fayette to come away with a 35-301 win.
Koby Biddix continued his torrent of treys, landing four for Fayette and a game-high 12 points. Chandler Sanford put up 8 points, Jerad Seiler 6, Tristan Bates 4 points, Wade Burkholder drained a trey, and Grant Schaffner had a deuce.
Quinn Smith landed 11 points for the Cadets, with Miklo Abner firing off 8. Jalen Towers had 5 points, Xavier Lowery had 4 points and 5 boards, and Will McKinney had 2 points.
