PETTISVILLE (December 16, 2025) – After the Archbold Bluestreaks traded leads with the Pettisville Blackbirds for nearly three full quarters, the Bluestreaks came roaring back to win in convincing fashion in Pettisville on Tuesday.
The first quarter began slow and methodical, with the opponents fighting to 4-4 via Archbold baskets from senior Charlee Forward and junior Reagan Wendt, and a Pettisville basket by senior Becca Strauss, along with a pair of free throws by junior Sophia Beltz.
That would be the end of scoring for the Blackbirds in the first period, while Forward would double the Bluestreak score with a pair of breakaway baskets after steals.

Pettisville was only able to put in one basket, courtesy of sophomore Addison Davis, in the time that Archbold’s freshman Molly Harris and sophomore Klaire Kern each sank a three, and Forward again stole a pass for a breakaway basket to bring the score to 16-10.
Strauss was able to put up her own trey to narrow the gap to 16-13 before both teams went scoreless to end the second quarter.
The pendulum began to swing back toward the Blackbirds in the third quarter, when they were able to put up 11 points to the Bluestreaks’ five and take the lead, 24-21.
Among the scorers for Pettisville were Beltz with a basket, Strauss with two treys, and one from freshman Madison Miller, while Archbold’s Harris and Forward each sank a basket.
Another trey from Harris tied the game at 24 before Forward peeled the ball away from Strauss to break away for two.
Beltz tied it up again, but Forward again swept in, this time with a buzzer-beating three-point shot to end the period up 29-26.
Forward’s quarter-ending trey would turn out to be the first shot in a 10-point rally, with her draining another three to start the final frame. A pair of free throws from senior Miley Gericke and a basket from Forward would round out the rally.
A pair of free throws from Miller would be followed up by another trey from Forward, and a breakaway basket by Wendt would give the Bluestreaks their biggest lead of the night at 44-28.
