FINDLAY (March 8, 2026) – It was a weekend district championship sweep for the Archbold High School wrestling program as the Bluestreaks joined their male counterparts in capturing the girls district title at Findlay High School on Sunday.
Led by a pair of district champions, Vivienne Legato (155) and Gabby Oregon (235), the Streaks edged runner-up Tinora, 93 1/2-90 to claim the team title, one day after the Bluestreaks had won the Division III boys district title on Saturday.
Fremont Ross was third (86 1/2) and Gibsonburg was fourth (70 1/2) rounding out the top four teams. Wauseon was tenth (52 1/2), Delta was 21st (32), Montpelier was 49th (16), Bryan was 56th (7) and Edgerton was 65th (3).
Just a sophomore, Legato improved to 35-2 on the season with a first-period pin over Britoriah Rollison of Sandusky in 1:04 in the championship match.
Legato had pinned her first two opponents in the first period but then survived a narrow 2-1 decision over Taylor Owen of Black River in the semifinals.
Oregon, who is making a return trip to state, improved to 38-2 on the season pinning Hadeel Abuqbitta of Valley Forge in 2:37 in the title match. She finished with four pins in the tournament, three of those coming in the first period.
Joining the two district champs is Kate Brenneman (30-8) as she placed fourth at 145 pounds.

Brenneman fell to Naomi Gearheart of Ashland Crestview in a 46-second fall in the semifinals but then pinned Karen Stevens of Oregon Clay in 2:07 to earn her spot to Columbus.
Also placing for the Bluestreaks was Carys Jacobs, who placed sixth at 100 pounds. She posted a 2-3 record in the tourney.
Archbold had five other wrestlers – Jasanna Gonzales (115), Lila Nichols (130), Taeya Meyer (140), Meg Ames (170) and Elizabeth Draggoo (190) – compete in districts but were unable to advance to state.
Wauseon advanced two of its wrestlers led by district champion Kaelynn Hartsock and district runner-up Amya Hallett to Columbus this Friday.
Hartsock, who is a junior, improved to 37-10 on the season defeating Gianna Sanfilippo of North Ridgeville, 8-2, to claim the 115-pound crown. She began the tournament with a technical fall victory and a third-period fall before narrowly defeating Bri Popovich of Cuyahoga Falls, 5-4, in her semifinal match.
Hallett, who is also a junior competing at 145, pinned her first three opponents, including a second-period fall over Kayla Opperman of St. Marys in the semifinal. In the finals, she was pinned by Naomi Gearheart in 1:52.

Also competing for the Indians but unable to advance was Alexa Solis (110), who posted a 1-2 record. Delta’s Ryllie Taylor will be heading to state as the Panthers senior finished third at 135 pounds.
Taylor (25-8) solidified her state qualification ticket with a second-period fall over Audrey Whitener of Findlay in 2:00 in the third-place match.
