GIRLS BASKETBALL

Hilltop 54 Fayette 17

WEST UNITY – Libbie Baker topped all scorers with 15 pontsto pace Hilltop (5-5) to a nonconference win over Fayette 54-17. Mia Hancock added 11 and Leanna Baker tallied 10 for the Cadets. Nevaeh Powers had eight points for Fayette (0-7).

Edon 50 Edgerton 26


HICKSVILLE – Carile Kiess had five triples and finished with 21 points to help Edon (1-10) get their first win of the season in the consolation game of the Route 49 Holiday Classic. Allison Kaylor was also in double digits for the Bombers with 10 while Luisa Rudersdorf and Grace Schroeder had six points each for Edgerton (1-9).

Wauseon 54 Tinora 38


DEFIANCE – Wauseon used a 19-1 third quarter to remain perfect on the season at 7-0 after a 54-38 win at Tinora. The Indians were led by Marisa Seiler who had nine field goals and four free throws for a game-high 22 points and Autumn Pelok added 17.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Tinora, 49-16

Bryan 43 Defiance 28

DEFIANCE – Bryan survived not scoring in the second quarter with a 32-19 second half to improve their record to 8-1 after defeating Defiance 43-28. Reese Grothaus was the lone Lady Golden Bear to reach double figures with a game-high 14 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Perrysburg 74 Wauseon 38

WAUSEON – Perrysburg scorched the nets by hitting 13 shots from long range as they rolled to a 74-38 win over Wauseon. Jack Leatherman fronted the Indians (4-3) in scoring with 10 points.

FRESHMAN SCORE: Perrysburg, 47-30

Stryker 48 Swanton 46

STRYKER – The Panthers (3-5) held off a late Swanton rally to hand the Bulldogs (6-1) their first loss of the season. No stats were reported.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Swanton, 29-26

North Baltimore 57 Hilltop 49

NORTH BALTIMORE – The Cadets dropped to 1-6 on the year following a 57-49 loss at North Baltimore. No stats were reported.

North Central 64 Montpelier 31

MONTPELIER – Zach Hayes had 18 points and Joey Burt added 13 for the Eagles who are now 4-1 after beating Montpelier 64-31. Montpelier’s (1-6) Garrett Walz posted 10 and Jamison Grime had eight for the Locos.

JUNIOR VARSITY: North Central, 36-22

Eastside (IN) 54 Edon 43

EDON – The visitors from Indiana outscored Edon in each quarter to pull away for the 54-43 victory. Jack Berry paced the Edon (3-2) scoring with 17 points and Drew Gallehue had 13.

Archbold 56 Fairview 47

ARCHBOLD – Brady Johns had 16 and Tyler Hurst added 14 as Archbold (4-2) overcame missing four starters to defeat Fairview. The Bluestreaks built a 51-32 lead after three quarters as they held on for the win despite Fairview outscoring them 15-5 in the fourth quarter.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Archbold, 33-25

Pettisville 39 Bryan 31

PETTISVILLE – The Blackbirds led wire-to-wire to earn their fifth straight win after starting the year 0-2. Pettisville (5-2), who was 15/24 at the foul line compared to 4/5 for Bryan, got 10 points apiece from Jaret Beck and Joey Ripke. Evan Cox was the catalyst for Bryan (0-7) with four buckets and 2/2 at the charity stripe for 10 points.
