Hilltop High School students celebrated the start of Homecoming weekend on Friday, September 29th before the start of the school’s home game versus Ottawa Hills.
Members of the homecoming court participated in a parade, led by the Hilltop Marching Band, before arriving at the football field.
There they were driven up to the field where they stepped out and onto the field for the crowning of their Homecoming King and Queen.
The freshman attendant was Halle Jones and her escort was Micah Rossman. Halle is the daughter of JR and Heather Jones. While in school, Halle has participated in volleyball, softball, track, and band.
She serves as her class vice president and is on the Student Council, where she serves as treasurer. In her spare time, Halle enjoys reading and hanging out with her friends.
Her future plans are to attend college at The Ohio State University, where she wants to major in criminal justice with the intent to become a lawyer when she graduates.
Micah is the son of Sean Rossman and Cathy Royal. His school activities include playing football, basketball, and baseball. In his spare time, Micah says you can find him playing all of these sports with friends and family. His future plans include becoming a fireman or a mechanic.
The sophomore attendant was Hayden JoHantgen and her escort was Nathan Wieland. Hayden is the daughter of Matt and Jen JoHantgen. While in school, Hayden has participated in volleyball, basketball, track, Student Council, and being a class officer.
In her spare time, Hayden enjoys listening to Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. She also enjoys reading and watching Notre Dame football and women’s basketball.
This summer, she also worked at Homestead Ice Cream. Her plans for the future include attending college, where she wants to work toward a business degree.
Nathan is the son of Brian and Stacey Wieland. Nathan’s high school activities include being a two-year member of FFA and singing in concert choir. His spare time is spent gaming, digital drawing, Wikipedia editing, video editing, and playing chess.
In the future, Nathan hopes to go to college to major in business. He plans to settle somewhere nearby and put his degree to use locally.
The junior attendant was Brooke Moreland, and her escort was Conner Sanders. Brooke is the daughter of Justine Talbott and Buddy Moreland. Brooke’s high school activities include cross country, archery, and track.
She is also the secretary of FFA, is her class vice president, and is Student Council secretary. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys hanging out with friends, going on walks with her dog, Bernie, going on rides with her horse, Dakota, and making pizzas at Wyse Guys. In the future, Brooke wants to attend The Ohio State University and study Biology to later become a dermatologist.
Conner is the son of Covin and Abbie Sanders. While in school, Conner has been involved with FFA, Student Council, where he serves as President-Elect, golf, archery, band, and the drama club.
In his spare time, Conner is in 4-H, where he serves as secretary for Successful 4-Hers. He also likes watching musicals at the Croswell with Marissa, going to Starbucks, taking naps, and taking his passenger princess, Ashtyn, everywhere.
His future plans include going to college at The Ohio State University to major in biology. He hopes to become a successful plastic surgeon by the end of his schooling.
The senior attendant was Shealyn Brown, and her escort was Dalton Bauer. Shealyn is the daughter of Brandon and Melissia Brown.

While in high school, Shealyn has taken part in cross country, basketball, softball, FFA, NHS, and is the football equipment manager.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and learning about Jesus when she attends youth group. Her future plans are to major in Biology at Mercy College of Ohio and continue from there to a chiropractic school.
Dalton is the son of Greg Bauer and Justin Oxender. While in high school, Dalton has enjoyed playing football and lifting weights.
In his spare time, Dalton enjoys watching football, playing video games, hanging out with his friends, and building with Legos. In the future, Dalton plans on going to college. He is currently undecided about his major.
The Homecoming Queen and King were then introduced as Miss Julia Rodriguez and Dylan Siebenaler.
Julia is the daughter of Robert and Rebecca Rodriguez. While in school, Julia has been involved in football and basketball cheerleading, NHS, FCA, Youth Group, and she sings with the worship team at Solid Rock Community Church.
In her spare time, Julia enjoys playing with her dog, Daisy, reading, binge-watching movies with family, hanging out with her friends and boyfriend, and singing along to Morgan Wallen songs.
Her future plans include attending college to pursue a career in nursing and eventually to become a certified midwife.

Dylan is the son of Michelle and Matt Smith and Adam and Anna Siebenaler. While in school, Dylan has been involved with Cadet Chorale, where he serves as president, Student Council, where he serves as president, drama club, golf and HMB. In his spare time, Dylan says he is a barista-by-night.
When he isn’t at Starbucks, he can be found in his room arguing with Alora and Emma about college homework or procrastinating from doing his work at Raace’s house-yelling at video games.
In the future, he plans to attend Miami University to obtain his master’s degree in Earth and Environmental Science, with a minor in Philosophy, so he can become a geoscientist, specializing in mineralogy and petrology contract work for mining companies.
Following the introduction of the Homecoming Court and crowning of the King and Queen, each of the members posed for pictures before taking their designated seats for the game.
