Hilltop Lady Cadets Stun Fayette On The Road; Pull Even With The Lady Eagles In The BBC

FAYETTE: February 13, 2014 – The Hilltop Lady Cadets have proven once again they are not a squad to be taken lightly as the senior laden Lady Cadets held on for a 63-61 road victory over the Fayette Lady Eagles on February 13. With the win, Hilltop closed out the regular season in the BBC with a 7-3 mark, placing the Lady Cadets in a tie for second place with Fayette behind Pettisville.

For Hilltop in the victory Emily Armbruster once again powered the Lady Cadets with 24 points on the game. Also in double figures, LeAnn Joost recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds while Hannah Bleikamp added 113 along with 9 boards, 7 assists and 2 steals. Kailey Creamer logged 6 points and 6 assists while taking away 2 steals. Destiny Denton hit for 2 in the game but played a key offensive role adding 7 assists. Cierra Grant rounded out the scoring for the lady cadets with 2.

In the tough loss for the Lady Eagles, Taylor Griffiths continued her scoring outburst this season with 21 points. Also in double figures for the Lady Eagles, Kaela Seiler had 17 and Paige Keefer recorded 10 in the game. Michaela Bates had 5 and both Jessie Wheeler and Kaetlyn Bates had 4.
