Pettisville Lady Blackbirds Continue To Roll; Crush Liberty Center On The Road

LIBERTY CENTER: February 11, 2014 – The Pettisville Lady Blackbirds continued their winning ways on February 11, steamrolling to a statement 47-31 victory over the Lady Tigers. With the win, Pettisville moved to 19-2 on the season, and remain one of Northwest Ohio’s premier teams moving into post-season action.

Mikala Avina led the way for the Lady Blackbirds with 11 on the night while teammate Lauren Hostetler also recorded double figures with 10 on the game, including 2 from the three range. Dana Fricke hit for 9, Jordan Purcel recorded 8, and Audra Kloppfenstein chipped in 7. Katie Hoffman recorded a bucket also in the win.

As a team, the Lady Blackbirds shot 38 percent from the field and went 8 of 15 at the line. Pettisville also controlled the boards, out-rebounding the Lady Tigers 32-17.

Summarizing the game, Head Coach Jason Waldvogel stated “We had a very balanced attack in a game that never found a flow to it.” The Lady Blackbirds close out the regular season February 13 at home hosting Stryker.
