Karen Juna Jeffries, 78, of Delta, Ohio passed away at her Florida winter home surrounded by loved ones on November 27th, 2022 from respiratory failure.

Karen was born on June 25th, 1944 to Carl and Juna (Bengtson) Fausze in Alpena, Michigan, the oldest of eight children.

In 1960, Karen met Jim Jeffries, the love of her life, while he was moving furniture into her family home in Toledo.

After graduating from Libbey High, Karen and Jim were married on August 25th, 1962, celebrating 60 years of marriage earlier this year.

Karen was a fantastic and wonderful mother to three children, a dedicated grandmother to six grandchildren and a loving wife.

She was very creative and talented and loved creating family heirlooms for us all to treasure from baptismal blankets, to crocheted afghans, to homemade quilts, to cross-stitch fingertip towels, and floral paintings.

Our homes are lined with these personal gifts we all treasure. We will miss her greatly.

Karen was passionate about so many things including contributing to charities, and participating as a leader in 4-H, teaching Sunday School and Bible School.

She spent many hours in Trinity’s Church sewing group making and donating quilts, lap robes, and baby sets. She was driven to improve the lives of others.

Karen and Jim had a love of gardening and had a huge red rasberry patch for many years. The berries were so delicious and made some of the best homemade jam.

Karen would make gifts of this jam for family and friends and friends of friends.

Karen also had the most beautiful violets and she grew dozens of them on glass shelves in her windows. She definitely had a green thumb!

Karen was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her brother Gary and her sister Marilee.

She is survived by her five siblings, Tom, Kathy, Janice, Louanne and Laurie; her husband, Jim; her three children, Julie, Jimmy and Jodie; her six grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jared, Bryson, Bryanna and Brendyn; and one expected great-grandchild.

A Memorial Service and Luncheon will be held Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 Taylor Street, Delta, Ohio.

Karen loved all flowers and her flowerbeds, but she especially loved her yellow rose gifts from Jim.

In lieu of cut flowers, donatons or yellow rose bushes sent to Karen’s Florida home or her Michigan home in April are appreciated, and will be used to estalish two Memorial Rose Gardens in her Honor.
