Lauren Hostetler Leads The Charge As Pettisville Rallies To Stun Delta, 49-46

December 3, 2012Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

DELTA – The Lady Panthers of Delta must have been feeling confident after three quarters of knocking around the visiting Pettisville Lady Blackbirds on November 27. After taking a three-point lead in the first, the hometown girls parlayed the advantage to 15 at 41-26 after three.
This is not hockey however, this is basketball and there are four periods…not three. The Lady Panthers apparently missed that memo, which was just fine for Lauren Hostetler of Pettisville. She led a titanic charge that saw the Lady Panthers’ advantage evaporate under a Blackbird hailstorm. With the score 46-32, the Ladybirds went on a 17-0 tear to cinch the rally and take a 49-46 victory.
“I am extremely proud of our ladies,” said Pettisville mentor Jason Waldvogel after the game. “They truly showed what they were made of tonight. There were several times that they could have given up, but kept fighting. Everyone stepped up, with Lauren Hostetler really making a difference for us.”
Hostetler finished with a game-high 22 points for the 1-1 Lady Blackbirds. Jordyn Pursel and Audra Klopfenstein each hit for 9 points, with Mikala Avina getting 6 points, Dana Fricke 2, and Patrice Smith one point.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Pettisville 10 7 9 23 – 49
Delta 13 11 17 5 – 46
