Wilma D. Swank, age 73, passed away peacefully in her home in Wauseon, Ohio on January 17, 2025. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to many.
Born on March 13, 1951 in Monterey, Tennessee to Curtis and Marie Vaughn; Wilma was the youngest of twelve children. She grew up in Swanton and attended Penta County Vocational High School, graduating in 1969.
Out of high school she enjoyed working at Topps. Later in life she babysat kids in her home, worked at Essen Haus and Sauder Village.
On August 30, 1975 she married her true love, Donald Swank. She loved spending time with her four grandsons. You would find her with the boys working on their playdough creations. Wilma found joy in spoiling her little dogs Jessie, Bella and Reba and taking them on countless walks.
She loved to cook and have family meals filled with conversation and laughter. Gardening was a passion of hers. She had a green thumb and was captivated by flowers. Wilma could nurse any plant back to life.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Donald Swank; her daughter, Lindsay (Jim) Foster; her son, Kyle (Katie) Swank; sisters, Fern Campbell, Bonnie (Bob) Bartlett, and Maxine (Ivan) Hite; brother, Don Vaughn, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Mamie Vaughn, Joanne Vaughn; brother-in-law, Bobby Loftis; grandchildren, Wade, Rafe, Reegan, Sayre, Jesse, David and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Marie Vaughn; sisters, Betty (Junior) Eads, Anna (Bill) Collins, Guin Loftis; brothers, Willard (Jeanie) Vaughn, Billy Vaughn, Almer Vaughn, and Sheridan (Pat) Vaughn; sister-in-law, Sharon Vaughn and brother-in-law, Bob Campbell.
