Mark Glen Jacobs, age 20, of Delta, was freed by his lifelong disability of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, on Friday morning, January 17, 2025.
He was born in Toledo on January 3, 2005 to Melvin Jacobs and Ailsa (Gacik) Jacobs. Mark was a 2023 graduate of New Horizons Academy in Wauseon.
When not cheering on his OSU Buckeyes, he enjoyed many other hobbies like playing video games, attending the zoo, listening to K100 country music and broadening his knowledge of science. Mark also valued good movies, including Disney, Marvel, The Walking Dead series, Scooby-Doo and Sponge Bob.
He is survived by his mother, Ailsa Jacobs of Wauseon; father, Melvin “Scott” (Karen) Jacobs of Delta; maternal grandfather, Gerard Gacik; uncles, Danny (Robin) Stone and Steve Gacik; loving cousins and extended family members.
Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Barbara Marshalko; paternal grandparents, Larry and Peggy Chasteen and uncle, Scotty Gacik.
Friends will be received from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Hwy 109 in Delta; with a funeral service honoring Mark’s life beginning at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Pastor Maryann Reimund will be officiating. Interment will follow at Winameg Cemetery near Delta.
