Margaret Bates (1942-2020)

Margaret Helen Bates, age 77, of Wauseon, passed away March 24, 2020, at CHP-Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. Prior to her retirement she had worked at Sauder Woodworking in Archbold.

Margaret was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, on July 31, 1942, the daughter of James Hassell and Lassie (Charles) Reynolds. On May 26, 1978, she married Robert L. Bates, and he preceded her on January 18, 2019. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving is son, Doug Williams of Carson, California; daughter, Melissa (Bradley) Eskins of Germantown, Tennessee; grandchildren,  Haley and Hayden Eskins, Steven Hoeft, Casey Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Allison Schmidt; and three brothers, Don Reynolds, Charles Reynolds, and Greg Reynolds. She is also survived by special nieces and nephew, Vicki and Lori, and Matthew, and great-nieces and nephews, Mason and Ethan Loeffler and Sara Fields and Marcos Molina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louella Fields; brothers, Larry and Jerry Reynolds; and step-daughter, Patricia Parrott.

Due to Coronavirus Pandemic, graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Butler Cemetery, on Fulton County Road 16, just south of U.S. 20.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be given to CHP-Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.

Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
