(Retired From Bryan Custom Plastics)

Marvin Dean Willibey, 83, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Parkview Hospital-Randallia in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on February 16, 1943, in Northwest Township, Ohio, to Raymon and Susie (Darr) Willibey. Marvin graduated from Montpelier High School in 1961.

On May 4, 1963, Marvin married the love of his life, Elaine Gilcher, at Kunkle Presbyterian Church. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and community.

He was a hardworking and dedicated man, retiring from Bryan Custom Plastics after nearly 40 years of service, where he worked as a utility person and forklift operator.

Earlier in his career, he also worked at the Montpelier Creamery and Body Works. Marvin was a 61-year member of First Presbyterian Church in Montpelier, where he previously served as a deacon.

He was actively involved in the Montpelier Tree Commission and was a Master Gardener. He also served his Local Union, 141, as a recording secretary for many years.

In the winter of 2026, Marvin, alongside his wife Elaine, were inducted into the Montpelier Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class.

He found joy in the simple things in life, especially gardening and sharing popcorn with family and friends.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his children, Teresa (David) Hunte of Hillside, New Jersey, and Douglas (Shawn) Willibey of San Diego, California; two grandchildren, Andrew Hunte of Hillside, New Jersey, and Ryan Rix of Eugene, Oregon; one niece, Lexie (John) Zuver and one nephew, Scott (Marcia) Willibey, all of Montpelier.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Norman (Betty) Willibey.

Visitation for Marvin will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Nancy Berkheiser to officiate. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Montpelier. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.

Marvin will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his quiet dedication to his community, and the love he shared with his family.
