Mary Lykins (1931-2021)

Mary E. Lykins, age 90, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 5:15 A.M. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at SKLD Bryan, where she was a resident. Mrs. Lykins was a 1949 graduate of Edgerton High School.

She was a devoted homemaker and worked with her husband at Lykins Party Store in Bryan for many years.

She was a member of Claire Newcomer Club and Orchard Hills Country Club and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for more than sixty years.

Mary E. Lykins was born on August 10, 1931, in Melbern, Ohio, the daughter of Charles G. and Gertrude (Landel) Spangler. She married Sewell L. Lykins on December 3, 1950, in Melbern and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1999.

Survivors include three daughters, Colette (Dale) Lazzaro, of San Antonio, Texas, Lori Dolan, of Bryan, and Amy (Tim) Conover, also of Bryan; five grandchildren, Lindsay (James) Wallace, Nicholas (Heather) Lazzaro, Mollie (Caleb) Wakefield, Alexander Dolan, and Luke Conover; and four great-grandchildren, Mariah and Brendan Wallace, Kora Lazzaro, and Thomas Wakefield.


She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Thomas Dolan; two brothers, Ford and Kermit Spangler; and seven sisters, Mildred Snyder, Pauline Merica, Olivia Goss, Neva Zachrich, Audrey Scott, Janice Huber and Sarah Davis.

Memorial contributions are requested to Wesley United Methodist Church or CHP Hospice.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will be private.
