Mildred “Millie” Orendorff (1948 – 2024)

(Elementary Teacher For Bryan Schools)

Mildred “Millie” Lee Orendorff, age 76, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 7:12 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center near Defiance.

Millie was an elementary school teacher for the Bryan City Schools for 40 years teaching grades 1-8.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan, Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star Chapter of Hartford City, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Ohio Education Association and National Education Association.

Millie was born on May 17, 1948, in Hartford City, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph R. and Helen R. “Tommie” (Arbogast) Huggins. She graduated from Hartford City High School and earned her Bachelor and Masters degrees from Ball State University. She married J.B. Orendorff on August 21, 1971, in Hartford City and he survives in Bryan.

Millie is also survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Andrew) Fitzpatrick, of Cincinnati, Ohio and April (Greg) Brown, of Detroit, Michigan and six grandchildren, Jack, Joseph and Samantha Fitzpatrick, Rustin Nafziger, Levi Hutchinson and Kalyn (Taylor) Budde. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Christian Orendorff.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan, Ohio with a celebration of Millie’s life taking place following visitation with Pastor Leo Pech officiating.
