MILLCREEK-WEST UNITY BOARD OF EDUCATION: Board Approves Multiple Junior High Coaching Positions

The Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, July 11th. The meeting began at 7:01 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Board President Jones then gave any public present the opportunity to give input regarding the matter of rehiring Jana Griffin. No input was given.

The board then moved to approve the following agenda items”

Minutes and financial statements from the June 2022 Board of Education meeting; Blanket purchase orders for Perry Pro. Toledo Edison, Entrust LLC. and Gordon Foods; Disposal of obsolete, outdated, and broken technology equipment, appliances, and machinery for FY23; The student/parent elementary handbook for 2022-2023; An overnight stay for the volleyball team from August 9th to the 10th, 2022; A graduate study reimbursement for Jordan Rupp; Rescinded the supplemental contract of tutor grades 7-8 for Kim Warner, hired at the June board meeting as a full-time middle school instructor for the 2022-2023 school year.

The following personnel items were also approved”


Savannah Westfall and Ingrid Hoffman for temporary summer employment at $9.30 an hour; Jennifer Huber as a tutor for grades 7-8; Shawn Blaisdell for the position of JH Football Coach; Carson Mahlman for the position of JH Football Coach; Russell Shimp for the position of JH Football Volunteer Coach; Jenna Keesecker for the position of JH Cheerleading Coach; Isaac VanArsdalen for the position of Assistant Golf Coach; Jaymes Zachrich for the position of Golf Coach.

The board then moved to approve the rehiring of Jana Griffin as an administrative assistant. The meeting was then adjourned at 7:03 a.m.
