The Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, July 8th at 7:00 a.m. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance before members moved the approve the following items as part of a consent agenda.
Approved the minutes and financial statements from the June 2024 meeting. Approved blanket purchase orders for Thiel Oil Co., US Bank, Toledo Edison, Sunlight Energy Investments, and Gordon Foods.
Approved the disposition of obsolete, outdated, and broken technology equipment, appliances, and machinery for FY 25. Approved an additional cost of $405 to Hylant Administrative for the Cyber Insurance Policy.
Approved an update to the district records retention policy, the changing of years of experience for Brenna LaLonde to two years of experience, as she was incorrectly credited with one year of experience during the May board meeting, and an overnight stay for the volleyball team on August 5th and 6th, 2024.
Also approved was a list of personnel recommendations, a list of donations made, and a memorandum of understanding with Sandy Hook Promise to continue using the Say Something ARS curriculum, free of charge, that teaches students how to recognize warning signs from individuals who may want to hurt themselves or others, to “Say Something”, to a trusted adult, and to use the anonymous reporting system for assistance.
Lastly, the board moved to approve a resolution to proceed with the renewal levy in excess of the ten-mil limitation for the purpose of safety and security. This levy pays for the school resource officer.
The meeting was then adjourned at 7:02 a.m. The next meeting will be held on August 12th, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
