On September 8th, twenty-five of our chapter members worked at the Williams County Dairy Association Stand where they served milkshakes.
The swine show was also held on Sunday, and our swine exhibitors had a successful day showing in showmanship and in market classes.
Ayden Bennett placed 5th in his market class, Rachel Dickinson placed 4th in her market class, and Jordan Schaffner placed 6th in his market class. Lindee Lammon exhibited the Grand Champion Pair of Market Hogs, Grand Champion Hampshire, and Reserve Division 5 Crossbred Market Hog.

She did an amazing job and was a first-year dairy exhibitor and was Reserve Champion Senior Showman, Champion Brown Swiss Female, Champion Heifer All Breeds, and Reserve Champion Dairy Overall!
Later that afternoon, we had six members exhibiting their rabbit projects: Libbie Baker, Eliza Higgins, Ashtyn Sanders, Conner Sanders, Addi Smith, and Brayden Talbott. Each exhibitor did a great job exhibiting their projects and Conner placed Champion Opposite with his New Zealand Buck.
Wednesday evening, September 11th, was the Showmanship Sweepstakes contest where all the Senior Showmanship Champions from each species have a “show off” to see who the “best of the best” is.
MWU FFA had two members participating: Myah Higgins as the Goat Representative and Lindee Lammon as the Dairy Representative. Both girls did an amazing job, and Lindee was named the 2024 Showmanship Sweepstakes Champion!

The Ag Soils team of Ayden Bennett, Alex Cox, Levi Cox, Carson Crossgrove, Coleton Ebersole, Evan Siegel, Jacob Stewart, and Brayden Talbott attended the D1 Soils CDE on September 26th. They judged 3 soil pits, completed a general knowledge test, and a soil survey. They placed 14th out of 22 teams.
From September 27th to the 29th, five of our first year FFA members: Alex Cox, Seeley Easley, Coleton Ebersole, Jacob Stewart, and Brayden Talbott, attended Greenhand Camp at FFA Camp Muskingum.
On the way to camp, they made a pit-stop at Cuyahoga National Park where they hiked trails and viewed a waterfall. Upon arriving at camp, they were immersed in leadership and team building sessions led by the Ohio FFA State Officer Team.
They met new friends from all over Ohio, and were able to explore outdoor recreation activities, such as kayaking, canoeing, shotgun, rifle, and archery, in addition to ping-pong, corn hole, and 9-square.
Looking ahead into October, the chapter plans to stay busy with Career Development Events, farm and business tours, and the National FFA Convention and Expo!
