MARION — There will be plenty of representation from Fulton County following track and field competitions at the Division IV Regional Track Meet held at Marion Harding High School on Wednesday and Friday, May 27and 29.

The Archbold Bluestreaks will be well-represented after advancing a pair of relay teams and two individuals to the state track and field championships which get underway June 4, at Jesse Owens Track Facility in Columbus.

Archbold’s Emersyn Selgo earned her ticket to state with a third-place effort in the girls’ long jump with a leap of 17-3. Her teammate Hadley Hudson qualified with a seventh-place finish in the girls’ 1600-meter run with a time of 5:19.19.

Also advancing for Archbold was the 1600 relay of Madison Burkle, Aubree Hurst, Lydia Frey and Karly Kruse with a sixth-place time of 4:05.73.

The 400 relay of Evy Roth, Irelyn Selgo, Emersyn Selgo and Lydia Frey finished eighth with a time of 51.49 seconds but was unable to advance.

On the boys’ side, Archbold’s 3200 relay of Connor Plassman, Trevor Osterland, Bo King and Jude Hudson advanced with a fifth-place time of 8:08.99. Jude Hudson was also eighth in the 1600 (4:32.73) but didn’t advance.

Evergreen’s Will Ruetz will be quite busy in Columbus as the senior standout qualified in three different events. Ruetz advanced with a fifth-place finish in the boys’ long jump (22-0), a sixth-place finish in the 110 hurdles (15.50) and also led off the 400 relay which also included Breyden Hoffman, Ethan Nash and Luke Woodring finishing as regional runner-up with a time of 43.08 seconds. Ruetz also finished eighth in the 300 hurdles (42.65).

Hoffman also qualified with a seventh-place finish in the boys’ 100-meter dash with a time of 11.12 seconds.

Swanton’s Audrey Robinson earned her ticket to Columbus as she placed fifth in the girls’ long jump with a leap of 16-8¾.

Other area track performers who reached the awards podium included Delta’s Claire Bates, who placed seventh in the girls’ shot put (36-0), and Abby Savage, who was eighth in the girls’ 400 (1:00.91).

Archbold’s Jovie Hudson was seventh in the girls’ 3200 (12:02.52) and the Streaks’ 800 relay of Evy Roth, Jade Frey, Emersyn Selgo and Lydia Frey, which placed eighth (1:47.90).
