Archbold, OH (August 8, 2023) – Black Swamp Arts Council (BSAC) is thrilled to announce a new chapter in its mission to promote and celebrate the arts in northwest Ohio.
The Edward and Mildred Roth family have generously donated the historic building at 210 N. Defiance Street, in downtown Archbold, to create a permanent community arts center.
The Roth’s visionary gift will allow BSAC to expand its presence and impact on the artistic development and cultural engagement in the region.
The forthcoming Black Swamp Arts Center will provide a creative space where the community comes together to explore, learn, and celebrate the arts. Diane Tinsman, Board President of the Black Swamp Arts Council, expressed her elation.
“We are excited, and deeply honored and grateful to the Roth family for entrusting us with this transformational gift.”

“BSAC envisions a dynamic floor plan that will house gallery space, offer a wide range of classes and workshops, host art parties and private art events, and accommodate after school art clubs.”
“The arts council is developing plans to renovate and outfit the building, ensuring that it becomes a quality facility that is welcoming to all members of the community.”
“From visual arts and crafts to music, theater, and literary arts, the new facility will offer opportunities for budding artists and crafters, seasoned professionals, and enthusiasts alike to come together in the spirit of creativity and collaboration.”
