The North Central Local Board of Education held a special meeting on Tuesday, July 30th. The meeting was called to order by President Kati Burt at 8:01am in the Eagle Room of the school.
At roll call were John Huffman, Dustin Meyers, Tim Livengood, Kati Burt and Chuck Haynes. Also present were: Treasurer Eric Smeltzer and Superintendent Michael Bute. After roll call was presented, everyone joined together in the pledge of allegiance.
Smeltzer began the special session with asking for a motion to approve the boards work session and regular meeting minutes dates July 16th, 2024. Livengood made a motion for approval which was seconded by Huffman with the rest of the board in agreement.
The meeting then moved on to the reason for the special meeting which was in regards to a recommendation by the superintendent to approve the resolution proposing the levy of an additional annual tax for school district purposes on the earned income of the individuals and determining to proceed with the submission of said levy.
The levy would be for a .75% earned income for three years. Haynes motioned for the approval of the resolution proposed levy which was seconded by Meyers with the rest of the board in agreement.
With no further business to discuss or to be brought before the board the special session was adjourned at 8:05am after a motion to do so was made by Huffman, seconded by Livengood with the rest of the board in agreement.
The North Central Local Board of Education’s next regular scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00pm in the Auditeria of the school.
