SWANTON (February 12, 2026) – A dominant Evergreen Vikings basketball team beat the Swanton Bulldogs, 57-25, to close out the NWOAL schedule for both schools.
Swanton took an early lead in the first quarter with baskets from senior Carli Lagrange, sophomore Avyonna Hamrick, and senior Lauren Bettinger, along with one long three-pointer from Evergreen junior Lanae Manz.
Their success was short-lived, as the Vikings proceeded to go on a 16-point run lasting into the second quarter, including two free throws and two three-pointers from junior Avery Emmitt to bring the score to 19-6.
Over the next three minutes, the Bulldogs put up 11 points while the Vikings scored six, with three baskets and two free throws from Bettinger, one from sophomore McKenzie Cooper, and a free throw from sophomore Evelyn Ventimiglia.
Evergreen scored with a three-pointer from Bailey Lumbrezer, a basket from Manz, and a free throw from sophomore Lyla Radel, putting the score at 25-17.
The Vikings then went on a massive 26-point run. This stretch lasted through the rest of the second quarter, the entirety of the third quarter, and into the final frame.
Manz led the scoring with three baskets, a three-pointer, and a free throw, while six other members of the team put up the remaining 16 points, giving Evergreen a 51-17 lead.
Swanton managed another eight points in what was left of the game, with a pair of baskets from Lagrange and a basket and two free throws from Bettinger.
Evergreen put another six points on the board, including two baskets from sophomore Lilli Eisel, to bring the final score to 57-25.
