The Pettisville Board of Education met on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 7:00 am for its third meeting in July.  All members except for Justin Rufenacht were present.

During the special meeting, only one personnel item was addressed.  AD Mendoza was approved as the Junior High / High School Intervention Specialist for the 2023-2024 school year.

Mendoza’s previous education experience includes serving in the positions of vocational counselor, special education coordinator, and 12th-grade Government and English Language Arts teacher for the Four County Career Center.

Superintendent Josh Clark noted that Mendoza, who also previously served as an educator with the Evergreen Local Schools, made quite a positive impact on that district.

Clark shared that Mendoza was “instrumental in the implementation of co-teaching there, which if you don’t know anything about Evergreen, the high school especially, has one of the best co-teaching models in Northwest Ohio if not this part of the state.”

Mr. Mendoza also currently serves as the Executive Pastor for Crossroads Church in Wauseon where in addition to providing ministerial care, he also oversees some of the budgetary items and staffing.

“Beyond that, you would be accepting a community leader, someone who would be fantastic for our kids, so I couldn’t be more excited to ask for that acceptance,” Clark expressed to the Board.

Upon acceptance of the new staff member and with no other business to address, the Board Meeting adjourned.

The next Pettisville Board of Education meeting is slated for Thursday, August 17 at 8:00 pm.
