The Pettisville Lady Blackbirds improved their record to 5-1 with a four set win over Styrker with scores of 25-19; 21-25; 25-10; 25-18.
The Panthers’ excellent net play kept them in the first set and gave them the second set win. Conner Varner and Christie Huston provided much of the blocking at the net for the Panthers. Huston came through with 4 kills and 8 blocks during the match while Varner led with 20 digs, was 39/42 hitting and had 19 kills.
But the strength of the Pettisville squad took over in the last two sets as Emily Huddy led the charge completing 14 kills during the four-set match followed by Dana Fricke’s 11 kills.
