Emilie Eustace, Morgan Mitchell and Makinzy King selling German Fest shirts WEBThe Pioneer German Festival was held last Friday and Saturday night. Area vendors that were out this year were Wynn’s Restaurant, Rachel Hall with Mary Kay, Kristina Sell with Paparazzi Jewelry, Jamie Stembridge with Initials, Inc. and the Pioneer American Legion. It was a family fun event that offered an old time family favorite putt putt golf, corn hole games, inflatables for the kids and a local resident offered up her artist skills for face painting.

Friday night saw a packed house for Joe House and his band as the citizens of Pioneer and surrounding areas danced the night away. On Saturday The Happy Times Polka Band entertained the crowd till 4pm. Wynn’s and Blaze and Babes provided great food for the festival and the American Legion as always provided Yeungling Oktoberfest beer. Saturday night saw a great turn out for The Dale Vaughn Band who provided some great music and fun for the packed crowd as they danced the night away to their music.

It was another great year for the Pioneer German Festival as the weather held court which made it an enjoyable fun filled weekend for the whole family. The great family environment that the festival provided made it worth coming out for, if you didn’t get to come out and enjoy some great festival fun this year keep your eyes open for next year’s dates for the festival and make sure to come on out.
