The Village of Pioneer Village Council met for their regular meeting at 8:30 p.m. on May 8, 2023.

After the pledge of allegiance, the meeting was called to order by Mayor Ed Kidston.

Council then approved the meeting for the agenda before approving the minutes of both the regular meeting of April 10 and the special meeting of April 25 before approving the financial statement and the bills as presented.

Due to the resignation of Traci Filson, Dean Frisbie was appointed to fill her position as Pioneer Village Councilor.

Council then heard regular updates from the police and fire departments before hearing the administrator’s report.

It was decided that $15,000 would be set aside for a consulting fee through Spectrum for the North Substation Project site development.

$25,000 was also approved as a retainer fee for negotiations regarding public policy to John Bentine.

After hearing the mayor elaborate on the potential $47,500 Cedar Street and $8,500 Dearborn Street projects, appropriations were amended and the meeting was adjourned.
