Residents of Lyons were recently able to experience a new restaurant in town. Faten’s Lyons Den held their official opening night on Saturday, November 16th.

Located downtown inside what used to be K’s Fine Food and Drink, the new restaurant is a new offering to the people of Lyons and will feature several new food offerings.

Some of the items that will be on the menu include Salmon, Ribeye Steak and Prime Rib, BBQ Pork Rib, Smash Burgers, Bruschetta, Fried Cauliflower, various wraps and sandwiches, and more.

Residents local to the area will see several familiar faces due to the owners of Faten’s Lyons Den also owning the US 20 Diner located just South of town on US 20.

However, while the diner features foods more typical for breakfast and for a mom-and-pop style restaurant, Faten’s Lyons Den will serve more along the lines of a fine style bar and grill.

Owner Faten Sweidan-Zahner explained that the support received by the community has been wonderful.

“We are very excited to be open. This is a big place, and it has all been somewhat overwhelming. There has been a lot to do, and we have gotten much done to get opened up and we have been happy with the outcome.”

“The community is supporting us very well. We have worked hard to get everything going.”

Chef Rema Escobar also explained that everything has been coming together well.

“So far it has been a mix of emotions. I am extremely excited about this. This has been something of my mom’s dream, to have a place like this, and for my dream of putting my food out there. It is all coming together and we have had fun making it.”

The restaurant, which has been around three months in the making, is planning on opening up for service this week, the week of the 18th, and plans on being open Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
