Friday, February 10 Scoring Summaries

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Wauseon 48, Swanton 32

The Indians got a step closer to an outright NWOAL title with the 16 points win over the Bulldogs. A 10-point second half advantage, helped the Indians to grab their 17th win against one loss.  Owen Newlove step to the plate and led the Indians with a 17-point effort and also included 12 turnovers to go with the offensive output. Carter Bzovi added 14 to play a supporting role to Newlove. Swanton’s big man, Gunnar Oakes was held to 12 points.

Archbold 69, Liberty Center 42

The Bluestreaks rolled to their 15th win and stayed in the NWOAL hunt with the win over the Tigers. Bryce Williams and Rigo Ramos led the Streaks with 12 points apiece and Kaiden Bedsole followed closely behind with 10.

Bryan 61, Delta 32

Deltas woes continued as the Golden Bears jumped out to a 37-9 first half advantage then cruised to the win. Josh Jones led the Golden Bears with 11 points.

Stryker 71, North Central 53

The Panthers broke out to a 33-19 lead as they captured their fifth win of the season and fourth win in 10 BBC games. Chase Glock contributed much of the firepower for Stryker finishing with 23 points. Kristian Grapengeter added 11 in support.  North Central finished with three players in double figures including Josh Roesener with 12 and Nick Henry along with Brady Wolfrum finishing with 10 points apiece.

Montpelier 44, Fayette 36

The Uribes and Blake duo continued their dominating play in handing the Eagles the BBC loss. Kolden Uribes finished with 22 points and Michael Blake added 18 points to lead the Locos (11-8, 6-5) win. Fayette (8-12, 3-7) were led by matching 10 points performances from Tharyn Colegrove and Clayton Pheils.

Hilltop 46, Pettisville 42

The Blackbirds held a 21-19 lead at the intermission, but the Cadets remained unbeaten in the BBC moving to 10-0 with 27 second half points. Hilltop (17-1) were paced by Quinn Smith with 19 and Tim Maneval with 14. Pettisville (11-9, 8-3) had 10 points apiece from Detric Yoder and Justin Rupp.

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL

Stryker 44, North Central 37

The Panthers pulled away with an 11-1 run in the third period to capture the BBC win. Daniel Fether led Stryker with 11 and Wyatt Short added 10 for the winners. Jack Bailey scored 20 of the Eagles’ 37 points including eight in the fourth quarter.

Montpelier 34, Fayette 21

Collin Bexton and Will Summers, with 10 points apiece, guided the Locos to thee BBC win. The Eagles struggled with just one point in the first half but found their offense in the second half as Porter Maginn rebounded from no points at the break to lead the Eagles with 11.

Pettisville 43, Hilltop 30

The Blackbirds improved to 11-8 for the season and grabbed their ninth win in BBC play. Sam Rychener and Eli Grieser finished with 19 and 11 points respectively for the Blackbirds. J. Sauber led Hilltop with 9 points.

GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Edgerton 44, Hilltop 32

The Bulldogs opened up a 10 point first half lead then put up 17 points in the fourth quarter guiding them to their fourth win of the season. Claire Flegal led Edgerton with 10 points. The Cadets were led by Abby Schaper with eight points.
