BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL
Pettisville 52, Tinora 33
The Blackbirds improved their season record to 5-3 with the non-conference win. Pettisville had a 61% performance from the field in shooting and made on 63% of their three-point attempts to help the cause. Detrick Yoder made to of those three pointers and led the Blackbirds with 13 points. Gabe Beck also finished in double figures with 12 points.
Antwerp 75, Edon 62
The Bombers fell victim in a non-conference battle with Antwerp. Edon was only down five after the first quarter, but Antwerp dominated the second quarter 23-9 to help springboard them to the win. Three Bombers finished in double figures led by Braden Miller with 23 points, Travis Siebenaler with 17 points and Preston Klingler with 11 points.
Montpelier 52, Evergreen 45
The Locomotives were a winner in the Northwood Tournament with the win over the Vikings. Montpelier jumped out to a 20-6 first quarter advantage then held off Evergreen the rest of the way. Kolden Uribes led the winners with 18 points while Michael Blake and Jacob Bailey added 10 points apiece. Evergreen got a monster performance from Mason Loffler in the losing effort. Loffler, a freshman, led all scorers with 24 points including six three-point makes.
Bryan 55, McComb 36
The Golden Bears opened up a 28-6 half time lead as they dominated McComb in a non-league contest. Colt Arthur paced Bryan with 15 points while Zac Nobis added 11 points and Zhane Cupp finished with 10 points.
Hilltop 64, Monclova Christian 52
Brooker, Maneval and Smith. No, not a law firm, but the BIG three for the Cadets were the leaders in the non-conference win over Monclova Christian. Ryan Brooker led with 19 points while Tim Maneval added 17 and Quinn Smith 11 to guide Hilltop to the victory.
GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBLL
Bethany Christian 42, North Central 36
It was the 25-16 deficit in the second half that proved costly for the Eagles. North Central finished the first half clinging to a 19-17 lead. Madison Bonney score half of her team-high 12 points during first quarter action for the Eagles.
