Scoring Summary – Thursday, September 15th, 2016

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Hannah Kaylor led Edon (5-8, 3-2) to the BBC win over Montpelier with scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-22 and 25-13. Kaylor slammed 11 kills during the game. Shaylee Manahan led Edon in serving with three aces. The Lady Locos (2-7, 2-4) showed great improvement and great team chemistry. Leading the Lady Locos were Jaelyn Lyons with five kills, three blocks, and one ace, Erin Prekop with five kills and one block, and Misheala Robertson with four kills and one block.

North Central defeated Hilltop with scores of 25-18, 20-25, 28-26, 20-25, 15-10.  The Eagles were led by Makayla Knapp with 11 digs and 29 assists, Addie Elser with five aces, and Makayla Hayes with 23 kills. Ariana Brown and Aubrey Wyse continue to lead the Cadets. Brown was 35/39 hitting with 13 kills and finished 14/15 serving with two aces. Wyse was 25/30 serving with six aces and she added six kills on 19/24 hitting. Marisa Yates had a solid game at the net with 17/19 hitting with seven kills.

Pettisville was on the short end on a non-conference match against Hicksville with scores of 25-20, 16-25, 22-25, 17-25.  The Blackbirds are 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the BBC. Competing for Pettisviile included: Kyra Behnfeldt- 9/11 serving w/ one ace; Teagan Kauffman- 16/18 with one ace, 30/34 hitting w/12 kills; Morgan Leppelmeier- 8/11 Serving w/two aces, 28/31 hitting w/10 kills; Jess Youse- 12/13 serving, 24/29 hitting w/nine kills; Carly Bontrager- 13/14 serving w/three aces, 95/98 setting w/29 assists.

Fayette defeated Stryker in five sets with scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-19, 24-26, 15-7.  No game stats were received for the Eagles but Stryker had the following stats: Emma Grime: 51/52 setting with nine assists, 19 digs, 12/13 serving, 14/16 hitting with six kills; Katelyn Tingley:  20/21 hitting with nine kills;  Brooklyn Whitlock: 15/16 serving with two aces, 15 digs, 19/22 hitting with nine kills; Brittney Haines: 20/21 serving with one ace, 20 digs; Breanna Wolfrum: 42/42 setting with 10 assists.

Delta beats Waite in three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-6, 25-8. Game stats included: Kinsey Finnen seven aces 13 kills, two blocks; Abby Freeman one ace, four kills 15 assists; Darian Elendt one ace, four kills two digs; Destiny Hildreth 18 assists, two digs; Emily Clifton three aces, seven kills, three digs; Mary Miller nine aces, eight kills, one block, one dig; Tatiana Ruiz four digs.

JUNIOR VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

The Blackbirds were downed by Hicksville with scores of 25-23, 14-25, 12-25. Pettisville’s stats included: Mikayla Graber – 59/59 setting, nine assists; Mauricea Crouch – 52/54 setting, five assists, 10/10 serving, two aces, 14/16 hitting, four kills; Madeleine Wixom – 11 digs

Ryeana Klopfenstein – 14/16 hitting, four kills.

BOYS VARSITY GOLF

Edon 197, Montpelier 205

The Locomotives dropped the BBC match.  Competing for Montpelier included: Garrett Witte (50), Aaron Stoy (50), Tyler Rupp (51), Roman Sommer (54), Braden Saneholtz (55), Brock O’Neal 55.

Stryker 150, North Central 167

The Panthers were victorious in the BBC match played at Riverside Greens.  Hayden Clingaman was medalist with a four under par 31.  Also scoring for Stryker were:  Austin Frisbie (38), Abe Montague (39), Aaron Sidle (42), Kaid Woolace (45), and Colin Anders (50).  For North Central David Pinc led the Eagles with a round of 36. Other scores for North Central included: Chace Boothman (37), Brock Zuver (45), Allyson Hutchison (49), Landen Patten (50), and Jack Bailey  (50).

Edgerton 175, Hilltop 189, Pettisville 229

The Bulldogs came to Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon for a non-conference tri-match with the Cadets and the Blackbirds.  Edgerton was the winner as they were led by medalist Jake Siebenaler’s round of 39. Following Siebenaler’s performance were: Drew Hug (45), Brody Mickael (45), Dacoda Faber (46), Zadin McNalley (48), Cameron Schaper (49). Leading Hilltop was Jay Garrett’s 43. Also competing for the Cadets were: Skyler Butterfield (47), Andrew Denton (49), Jestin Maddox (50), Steven Riley (53).  Pettisville’s Graeme Jacoby paced the Blackbirds with a round of 51. Austin Horning fired a 54 followed by: Josh Graber (57), Dalton Meyers (67) and Isaac Norr (71).

GIRLS VARSITY GOLF

ANTWERP 214, MONTPELIER 216

Woolace & Johnson

The Locomotives were led by Brookelyn Dye with a round of 46 despite the defeat. Also finishing for Montpelier were: Elizabeth Fritsch (47), Katie Taylor (59) and Gabby Cox (64).

VARSITY BOYS SOCCER

Delta 11, Toledo Waite 1

Delta hosted Waite in a non-league contest. The Panthers onslaught began with an Anthony Russell goal with an assist from Jared Gilders only six minutes in. The duo followed that goal up with another one only two minutes later. Waite held off Delta for a time after that, but Owen Jagodzinski scored a third goal eight minutes before the half was over. As time was running out in the half, Allen Schwanbeck scored a fourth goal for Delta with an assist from Anthony Russell.

Delta racked up three more goals in the first five minutes of the second half. The first was scored by Thomas Cupp at the 44-minute mark with an assist from Anthony Russell. The second was put in by Jared Gilders also with an assist from Russell at the 45-minute mark. The third was a header a few seconds later by Tyler McCullough with an assist from Owen Jagodzinski. Waite’s Aneelmo Padilla responded with a goal one minute later. But Delta went on the score four more goals in the half. The first was at the 48-minute mark and was scored by Thomas Cupp with an assist from Anthony Russell. The second was put in by Jared Gilders at the 55- minute mark. The third was added two minutes later by Kaden Pirrwitz and an assist from Anthony Russell. The fourth and final goal for Delta was scored by Joseph Durfey at the 64-minute mark with an assist from Anthony Russell.

Stateline Gun Show

Bryan 0, Continental 0

The Bryan Golden Bears and non-league opponent Continental battled to a scoreless tie. Bleus Creek recorded two saves in goal and Evan Smith recorded eight saves in goal.  Bryan’s record moves to 6-0-3, 2-0-1 NWOAL.

Toledo Central Catholic 4, Wauseon 2

The Indians scored two goals during the non-league loss to Central Catholic. Zach Fink scored the first and Levi Whitman the second.  The Indians slipped to 0-7-1 on the season.

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY SOCCER

Bryan 1, Continental 0

Bryce Harris scored the goal for the Golden Bears and Collin Clark had the assist.

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER

Bryan 4, Delta 0

Bryan had goals from four different players in their NWOAL shutout win with the Panthers. Included in the scoring were:  Emily Gorzelanczyk and MyKenzi Greenler and juniors Allye Minor and Gracie Voigt. Morgan Tinkel and Madison Reiser recorded assists.

Nofzinger Electric

Swanton 2, Archbold 1

The Bluestreaks moved to 3-3 on the season with the setback at Swanton. Archbold’s lone goal was scored by Emie Peterson with an assist from Chloe Nofziger.

Wauseon 4, Liberty Center 3

The Indians got the NWOAL win on the strength of three goals by Avery Vasvery. Kendra Gorczyka added the fourth for the win.

VARSITY TENNIS

Siebenaler Construction

Archbold 5, Rossford 0

The Bluestreaks improved to 7-5 with the shutout win. Caroline Kinsman was a winner in First Singles. Darby Stevens swept Second Singles 6-0, 6-0 and matching that result in Third Singles was Isabel Kreiger.  Morgan Perry and Amanda Payne were 6-1, 6-2 winners in First Doubles and Melyana Stuckey along with Itsy Gaona were 6-1, 6-4 winners in Second Doubles.
