Thursday, September 29 Scoring Summaries

VARSITY GOLF

Sectional Tournament: Division II Boys – Country Acres

The Bryan Golden Bears finished fifth with a score of 360 to miss qualifying for District completion by one place. Bryan’s scores included: Case Hartman (86), Peyton Lamberson (91); Owen Beaver (91); Conner Lemons (92); Connor Shirkey (94).

Sectional Tournament: Division II Boys – Detwiler Park

The Archbold Bluestreaks qualified for District competition with a second place finish. The Streaks stroke total of 310 included: (Ian Radabaugh 73, Brandon Miller 80, Trevor Rupp 81, Kade Kern 76, Mitch Grosjean 87). Other teams of interest competing included: 9. Delta 376; 10. Wauseon 391; 11. Swanton 397.  Wauseon’s CJ Moser shot an 84, good for 18th.  Jay Vann led the Panthers finishing 34th with an 89 while Carter Swank was Swanton’s top finisher in 36th with a round of 93. Delta’s other finishers included: Drew Mattin (95), Chris Brick (96), Brady Wymer (96), Chase Sandusky (108).  Swanton’s other finishers were: Raymond Schad (109), Randy Slink (55th, 110), Brady Lemons (115). Wauseon’s other placers included: Trent Armstrong (96), Caleb Leu (100), Eric Parker (111), Logan Blackman (115).

Sectional Tournament: Division III Boys – Ironwood

The Stryker Panthers season was extended with a runner-up finish. The Panthers’ scoring includes a team total of 343. The team’s individual scores were: Hayden Clingaman (77), Austin Frisbie (83), Abe Montague (85), Aaron Sidle (101), Kaid Woolace (98). Edgerton missed qualifying by four strokes and finished 4th with a 349. North Central was 5th with 350, Fayette finished 6th with 359. Evergreen was in 8th spot with 384, Hilltop was 9th with 389, Edon was 11th with 412 and Montpelier was 14th with 434. Individuals qualifying from the area include: David Pinc (North Central, 80), Drew Hug (Edgerton, 81) and Tharyn Colegrove (Fayette, 84). Edgerton’s fourth place finish included scores of: Jacob Siebenaler (85), Dacoda Faber (89), Cameron Schaper (94), Brody Michael (97). The Eagles’ other finishers include: Chase Boothman (85), Brock Zuver (92), Landon Patten (93), Jack Bailey (103). Fayette’s sixth place finish included scores of: Noah Brinegar (89), Tanner Lemley (93), Travis Wagner (93), Bret Merillat (99). Individually for Evergreen were: Travis Mersing (84), Evan Conrad (99), Zach Lumbrezer (100), Nick Hudik (101), Kaleb Lumbrezer (108). Hilltop had four finishers including: Skyler Butterfield (90), Andrew Denton (95), Jestin Maddox (98), Steven Riley (106). Edon’s 11th place finish included: Evan Fisk (88), Brayden Bauer (92), Tatum Schaffter (102), Colin Dulle (130).

Sectional Tournament: Division III Boys – Eagle Rock

Pettisville concluded their season with a 12th place finish. Participating for the Blackbirds included: Austin Horning (102), Josh Graber (106), Andrew Canada (111), Graeme Jacoby (122).

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER

Archbold 5, Delta 0

The Bluestreaks improved to 6-5 and 2-2 in the NWOAL with the shutout. Scoring for Archbold were: Emie Peterson with two goals, Lexa Richardson, Kamryn Hostetler and Kennedy Miller. The game was called at the half because of weather conditions.

Wauseon 10, Evergreen 0

Mya Saurez joined Jadelyn Vasvery with three goals apiece as the Indians rolled passed the Vikings in a NWOAL match. Other Wauseon goals were scored by Briley Rupp, Taylor Benschoter, Kendra Gorczyka and Torri Bost.

BOYS VARSITY SOCCER

Pettisville 1, Bryan 0

The Blackbirds handed Bryan their second loss of the season in the non-conference matchup. Connor Wyse found the net for the game winner. Pettisville took nine shots on goal limiting Bryan to two.

JUNIOR HIGH SOCCER

Pettisville traveled to Trinity Lutheran School. Despite the sustained rain, the Blackbirds finished the game with 11 goals and the win. Isaac CIsneros lead the scoring again with 3 goals, followed by Blake Eyer with two. Bryce Beltz, Levi Morris, Ben Morris, and Jay-R Allison each added a goal, as did Gideon Myers and Brayden Barrett for their first goals of the season.

VARSITTY VOLLEYBALL

Pettisville remained unbeaten in BBC play in nine matches with a three set win over Montpelier with scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-10. Statistics for the Blackbirds included: Kyra Behnfeldt- 10/12 Serving w/3 Aces, 17 Digs; Teagan Kauffman- 8/9 serving, 15/20 Hitting w/8 Kills, Morgan Leppelmeier- 16/17 Serving w/1 Ace, 12/15 Hitting w/7 Kills, Jess Youse- 15/15 Serving w/3 Aces, 14/16 Hitting w/10 Kills, Solo Blocks- 5,  Carly Bontrager- 12/13 Serving w/2 Aces, 61/63 Setting w/28 Assists, Sami Tilley- 10/10 Hitting w/6 Kills.

Edon defeated North Central scores with scores of 21-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-23. The Bombers improved to 8-7 and 6-3 in BBC. (No individual stats were submitted.)

Hilltop defeated Stryker in three sets including scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-21.  Aubrey Wyse was solid at the net with 20/22 attacks with 11 kills. Ariana Brown added eight kills on 14/17 attacks. Johnnie Roth was 12/13 serving with five aces.

Delta lost to Toledo Christian with scores of 12-25, 25-9, 16-25, 16-25. Individual stats for the Panthers included: Kinsey Finnen 6 aces, 6 kills, 1 block 13 digs; Abby freeman 12 assists, 7 digs; Destiny Hildreth 9 assists, 5 digs; Emily Clifton 6 kills, 1, block, 14 digs; Madi Nadolny 4 blocks, 3 digs; Mary Miller 9 killls, 2 blocks, 5 digs; Raelyn Hutchinson 4 digs; Tatiana Ruiz 8 digs.

JUNIOR VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Montpelier defeated Pettisville with scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-20.  The Blackbirds were led by: Lindsey Crossgrove – 17/17 serving, 2 aces, Danielle King – 12 digs, Jordan Skates – 11 digs,   Mauricea Crouch – 43/43 setting, 5 assists.

Edon defeated North Central scores were: 25-14, 17-25, 25-20. Edon stands at 13-4 and 8-1 in BBC. (No individual stats submitted.)

FRESHMEN VOLLEYBALL

Edon defeated North Central scores were: 25-13, 25-15. The Bombers are 5-1 and 5-0 in BBC.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL

North Central’s 7th grade team defeated Edon 25-22 and 25-19 to improve to 13-1 on the season and 8-0 in the BBC. The Eagles’ 8th grade fell short to Edon winning the first game 25-21 and losing the second two sets 22-25 and 20-25. They are now 6-8 overall and 4-4 in the BBC.

Montpelier defeated Pettisville in an 8th grade match with scores of 25-11 and 25-10. The Locomotives were 25-15, 25-22 and 25-23 winners in the eighth grade match with the Blackbirds.
