Sherrill Mae “Sherry” Riegsecker, age 76, of Archbold, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Promedica Toledo Hospital.
Sherry was born in Canton, Illinois on February 6, 1948, the daughter of Carl Kenneth Hedden and Helen Irene (Ford) Hedden-Bender.
On July 17, 1982 she married Merle E. Riegsecker, and he survives. She began her career at the local telephone company in the late 1960s and retired after more than 45 years. S
he also worked alongside her husband Merle on the family farm for 38 years. Sherry was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She could always bring a smile to people’s faces with her sense of humor and brought so much joy to those around her.
Sherry enjoyed doing puzzles, gardening, and she made the best sweet tea and Christmas treats, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Merle; daughter, Amy (Brad) Merillat and their children Katherine, William, and Elias of Archbold; step-son, Troy (Happy) Riegsecker and their children Alyssa, Ethan, RJ, and Sonya of Independence, Kentucky; step-daughter, Julie Riegsecker of Bryan; brother, John (Kathy) Hedden of Appleton, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Kenneth St. Clair of Richardson, Texas; sister-in-law, Marla Hedden of Canton, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings; Helen St. Clair, Jim Hedden, Nellie Lather, Ken Hedden, Bill Hedden, and Bruce Hedden.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 13th, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11 a.m. at the Fayette Church of the Nazarene. A meal will be served after the service. A private burial in the Pettisville Cemetery will take place at a later date.
