Sophia M. Gear, 106 of Waldron, Michigan died Monday evening, September 3rd 2012 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on January 23 rd 1906 in Ransom Township, Michigan to Eddie A. and Hattie W. (Britton) Lister.
Sophia married Jay C. Gear, Sr. and he preceded her in death on June 11th 1954. Sophia was a homemaker her entire life.
Sophia was a member of the Lake View U.B. Church in Camden, Michigan.
She is survived by a son Jay and wife Donna Gear of Amboy Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jay, one daughter Betty Wirick, three sisters, two brothers, three grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Graveside services were on Saturday, September 15th at 11 am at Evergreen Cemetery on Burt Road in Ransom Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan with Pastor Steve Smith officiating.
