(October 20th, 2014)-STRYKER: After a highly successful season, the Panther Golf Team celebrated their play with the squad’s annual awards ceremony.

Coach John Ruffer hosted the event, singling out each and every golfer on the team for their improved play throughout the year. He had a story for each individual player on the unit. He also listed the accolades each one earned from the season.

Four Stryker Golfers were named to the First Team Buckeye Border Conference (BBC) squad, as Cody Hall, Chad Ruffer, Hayden Clingamen, and Tanner Clingamen all earned that distinctive honor. In addition, Hall, a third year Varsity Award winner, was given the Most Improved title from Coach Ruffer. Ruffer, also a three year Varsity Award recipient, also claimed BBC Scholar Athlete status, and earned one of two Coach’s Awards handed out on the evening. Hayden Clingamen, only a sophomore, took home a second year Varsity Award, as well as the other Coach’s Award.

Senior Tanner Clingaman, a four year Varsity Award winner, also gained the BBC Scholar Athlete Award with a 4.0 average. He also was named the team’s Most Valuable Player, and was given the Low Average Award.

A few days after the ceremony, Tanner and Hayden Clingaman, as well as Chad Ruffer were awarded All-District Honors. Tanner was named to the All-District First Team, and given All-Ohio Scholar Athlete status. Hayden and Chad Ruffer were named as All-District Honorable Mentions.
