The Stryker High School held their Homecoming Ceremony on Saturday, January 20th. The Ceremony began around 5:30 p.m. in the Stryker High School Gymnasium. Members of this year’s Homecoming Court are as follows.
This year’s freshman attendant was Kylah Plum. Kylah is the daughter of Manda and Randy Shock. She has a younger sister Addison. She is currently involved in volleyball, and she races dirt bikes.
This loud, sarcastic, and extroverted freshman says her hobbies include hanging out with Viv and Lola, working with her dad, and watching movies with her sissy. Her favorite food is Bdubs Honey BBQ boneless wings with ranch and fries.
Kylah says her ideal Saturday night is hanging out with Viv and Lola. She says she would like to go on a road trip with Viv, Lola, and Maddy to Florida and then Jamaica for a fun girl’s trip to the beach. Kylah plans on going to the University of Toledo for criminal law then obviously getting a house smack dab next to Viv.
Kylah was escorted by Sam Gonzalez, the son of Alyssa and Samuel Gonzalez and Jessica Meadows. He has six siblings: Willamena, Michelangelo, Mazlyn, Mozes, Merikia, and Marvel. This energetic, funny, and athletic freshman hanging out with friends and family and participating in sports.
At Stryker, Sam is involved with football, basketball, baseball, and track. He says his favorite food is steak and potatoes and white rice with black beans. Sam has stated his ideal Saturday night would be hanging out with friends and family and playing games.
His favorite movie is “Home Alone.” He would like to visit Hawaii so he can learn about their culture and traditions. His future plans are to go to college and continue his career in football.
This year’s sophomore attendant was Candace Steck. Candace is the daughter of Ashley and Daniel Steck. She has five siblings: Daniel, Aidan, Alicia, Mesiah, and Elias. She is involved with volleyball.
Her hobbies include hanging out with friends and her boyfriend, traveling, buying clothes and unnecessary things, and going to concerts.
This patient, gentle, and outgoing sophomore said her favorite food is tacos. The three things she would bring with her on a deserted island would be her phone, a bed, and a huge house. Her ideal Saturday night would be lying in bed watching her favorite shows and movies with her boyfriend or friends.
Her future plans are to go to Four County for nursing, go to college and major in something in a medical field, get married, buy a house, and eventually start a family.
Candace was escorted by Geordie Gonzalez, the son of Patricia Roblero and Fredi Morales. Geordie has one older brother Jayden. He is involved with basketball. His hobbies include playing video games and spending time with family.
This short, imperative, and funny sophomore has stated his favorite food is chicken and rice. Geordie’s favorite movie is “Cars.” His dream vacation would be to Brazil to see Christ the Redeemer which is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. His future plans are to attend college to become a vet and start a family.
This year’s junior attendant was Kennedy Morr. Kennedy is the daughter of Beth and Tim Morr. She is involved with Golf, Cheer, Spanish & Art Club, Student Council, and Yearbook. She enjoys hanging out with friends, family, and her boyfriend, watching tv, cheering, and watching sports.
This empathetic, energetic, and delightful junior says her ideal Saturday night would be going to a basketball game or hanging out with her boyfriend. Her favorite book is “Hunger Games”and her favorite TV show is “Outer Banks.”
Kennedy has stated that she would like to go to Africa to see all of the animals. Her plans after high school include going to Jacksonville University for zoo-keeping then working at a zoo and starting a family.
Kennedy was escorted by Jacob Myers, the son of Janet and Keith Myers. He has two older sisters: Kinsey and Marissa. He is involved with football, basketball, track, baseball, FCA and FFA. His hobbies include playing sports.
This athletic, competitive, and funny junior has stated that if he were stranded on an island, he would want a boat, water, and food. His favorite movie is “Cool Runnings.” Jacob has stated that his future plans include going to college and seeing where life takes him.
This year’s senior attendant was Oliviah Clingaman. Oliviah is the daughter of Laura and Jeff Clingaman. She has one older brother Spencer.
She is involved with volleyball, softball, FCA, National Honors Society, Spanish and Art Club and Student Council. She often enjoys going to the movies with friends, reading and working.
This smart, determined, and straightforward senior has stated her favorite food is Chicken Alfredo. Her ideal Saturday night would be going to the movies and then playing cards with family. Her favorite movies are The Hunger Games Series, and favorite TV Shows are “Grev’s Anatomy” and “shameless.”
Her plans for the future include going to Bowling Green State University and majoring in Education, getting married, and starting a family.
Senior attendant Austin Batterson is the son of Amanda and Kevin Batterson. He has five younger siblings: Andrew, Abram, Abel, Kelly, and Kimberly. During his time here at Stryker he has been involved in Baseball, Basketball, FFA, FCA and NHS. He likes to spend his time hanging out with his family, friends, girlfriend, and playing video games.
This intelligent, kind, and quiet senior has stated his favorite food is steak. If he were to be stranded on an island, he would like to bring a bean bag, a book, and some snacks. If he were to take a dream vacation, Austin said he would like to go to Florida for its warm weather.
Austin has stated that after school he plans on attending NCSS and working on the family farm, getting married and starting a family.
The Homecoming Queen of 2023 was Kaitlyn Myers. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Renee and Jared Myers. She has an older sister Madi, a younger sister Raegan and a younger brother Zander. Her hobbies include going out with friends and her boyfriend, seeing her dogs and shopping.
Currently Kaitlyn is attending the University of Toledo and majoring in Nursing. Her hope is to go back and receive a Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner degree. Her favorite memory of high school was winning battle of the classes all four years.
The Homecoming King of 2023 was Levi Barnum. Levi is the son of Sue and Dave Barnum. He has an older brother Jakob and two older sisters Ashley and Sara. His hobbies include watching sports and hanging out with his girlfriend and the boys.
He currently is attending the Federal Aerospace Institute. Levi’s fondest memory of high school was winning a sectional championship and the BBC in Basketball.
The class of 2036 is represented by Hazel Arnos and Jaxton Nofziger. Hazel is the daughter of Hannah and Matt Arnos. She has two older sisters named Annabelle and Elsie.
She enjoys swimming, playing in the snow, ice skating, and playing with her sisters. Her favorite movie is “Clifford.” Her favorite food is pancakes.
When she grows up, she said she would like to be a subway worker. If Hazel could meet anyone it would be Bekah from a Girl Named Tom because she is famous.
Jaxton is the son of Erika and Galen Nofziger. He has an older brother named Harley, an older sister named Averie and a younger sister named Maislyn.
During his free time, he likes farming with his dad, playing with his sister Maislyn, and playing in the tool shed with his brother. His favorite movie is “Blaize,” and his favorite food is watermelon. When he grows up, he said he wants to be a police officer. If Jaxton could meet anyone it would be Jesus because he helps keep us safe.
After introducing the Homecoming Court, the King and Queen were then announced. This year’s Homecoming King and Queen were Jacob Cadwell and Adysen Andres.
Jacob is the son of Heather and Jason Cadwell. Jacob has three sisters: Makenzie, Emily, and Kyleigh. He is involved with Football, Basketball, Baseball and FFA. His hobbies include playing sports and hanging out with his friends and girlfriend.
This competitive, easy-going, and chill senior said his favorite food is tacos. If he was stranded on an island, he would bring a radio, the boys, and a jet ski. His ideal Saturday night includes going out and hanging out with friends. His favorite movie is “Step Brothers.”
He would like to travel to South Africa because of the amazing wildlife, crazy adventure and much more. Jacob’s plans for the future include attending the University of Toledo for electrical engineering, getting a job then starting a family.
Adysen is the daughter of Heather and Adam Andres. She has three younger brothers: Noah, Jeter, and Liam. She is involved with volleyball, football cheer, softball, student council, FFA, Spanish and art club, and NHS. Her hobbies include sleeping, watching movies, and spending time with family, friends, and her boyfriend.
This friendly, awkward, and creative senior said her favorite food is her nana’s spaghetti. Her ideal Saturday night is staying in, taking a bath, and binge watching her favorite tv shows. Her favorite TV Show is the Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
If she could travel anywhere, she would go to the Bahamas because it looks pretty there. Her plans for the future are to go to Bowling Green State University, major in early childhood education, become an elementary school teacher, get married and start a family.
